i understand that in light of the things happening in the lives of others right now, {missionaries leaving, weddings, engagements...}
this phenomenon may seem extremely miniscule in comparison.
but it's not okay.
our new apartment has real dark brown hardwood floors.
our couches are dark brown.
i don't want to buy a huge rug to put on the floor {because, well, that seems logical. so why would i do it?} because it's dang expensive.
but what do you do with dark brown floors, dark brown couches... and an infinite number of paint colors you can paint the walls?
green?!
{via}
red and orange?!
personally, i'd like to get a white couch cover, and have a tree going up to the ceiling, hanging lights and all.
i've looked at so many pictures and ideas that it's making me dizzy.
anyways.
i don't want my living room to be a black hole, that's all.
i'm going to paint the kitchen blue/turqoise with red black & white accents{via}
or green with gray and white {unless i paint the living room blue or green. or red.}
and the bedroom partially yellow and/or gray.
{via}
i might as well redesign it all, right?
WHOO!
movin' in this week!
let the remodeling.... BEGIN!
find the right green and it will lighten it up. Bring in lots of lighting, and it will lighten up the green as well. I would definitely NOT do the white couch though. It gets dirty SUPER fast, and especially with a dog it wouldn't stay a pretty white very well. But light or white pillows for a couch works really well would do a lot to break up the brown. and if you have enough room, maybe a white coffee table instead of a rug?
ReplyDeleteI have definitely watched too much trading spaces.
green living room and the turquoise kitchen=adorable.
