in which we do not wear clothing for days.

so let's talk the weather. i'm not usually one to outwardly complain about stuff like this-- this whole summer i've been passive agressively quiet about how our upstairs neighbors moved out, and even though our landlord unlocked their door for us so we could have access to the swamp cooler that is only upstairs, the "tenants" turned it off, locked the door and will not let us into their apartment to turn on the AC. (we can't get a hold of them, neither can the landlord. i swear, this place gets more and more unbearable the longer we stay here.)
so, even though we have access to sweet, cold air, our upstairs neighbors really have it in for us.

it is currently 82 degrees in our BASEMENT apartment. i'm this close to high-tailing it to walmart for some dry ice and a fan so we can stay sane. but our car doesn't have AC either, so i don't want to.

we've been living without clothes on for the past few days. get home from work, take clothes off. have to go outside? throw on minimum clothing. come back in, clothes off. someone knocks at the door? minimum clothing. clothes off. i'm so happy i don't have long hair anymore. if i still did, tonight i would have chopped it all off.

you guys will let us stay at your house.. right?
we promise we'll wear something.

  1. That seems overly mean and cruel to do! I sympathize with the heat so much, but since I am in the middle of Winter I cant help but be a little jealous, I know when its Summer I will complain though!
Totally feeling for you! Hope you survive the night ;)

  5. Haha. Weather here has been awful also. We were up in the 110's last week, but thankfully this week its down in the lower 90's.
The upstairs tenants are evil for not putting the AC on. I hope you find some heat relief soon!

  6. This is too funny! With the weather the way it's been in LA this past week, it's only too tempting to follow suit and do the same! By the way, just stumbled upon your blog and am absolutely loving it. You've got a new follower! xo

  7. Haha! This summer weather is becoming a little insane. It's not too bad here where I'm from (s. california) but it's been a bit humid today WHICH IS NOT LIKE CALIFORNIA. You're hair looks great in that shot by the way!

And you're so sweet! I don't own a camera haha! I know, it sucks. So I take every thing with my iphone...I know I know! So sad!

  9. Oh boy do I feel ya. Seriously, it was 112 here the other day. And it's that muggy, sticky hot. I was driving home from work in it (without air conditioning of course) and had to stop half way and go get ice cubes to throw down my shirt. I thought I was going to die.

  11. Bless your heart! That's awful! A couple of weeks ago we had 108-110 weather so anytime I was home, I was sans clothes. It's Alabama so the air is wet and sticky too. It was awful! I can't imagine what you guys are going through without AC! UGH! I hope you guys are able to 'chill out' soon!

  16. Haha. I totally feel you, today I wanted to punch the weather man in the face...not because he had anything to do with it being 109 degrees out, but just because I needed to punch someone in the face because it was 109 degrees out. :)

So glad I "stumbled" upon your blog via Amanda's (We & Serendipity) blog...love it.

come over anytime, i blast our ac like you wouldn't believe.
probably because the prego bod overheats like no other.
but seriously if you decide to brave your no ac car (totally feeling you there, that was us a few weeks ago!), come visit. i'll even have icecream. :)

  18. oh gosh, devil neighbors, we definitely have some of those, today they used all of our hot water before 11am, great huh? we don't have AC besides a mini unit in our bedroom....so no one ever wants to come over and i dont want to come home. it gets hotter in our house than it is outside, its that bad because we are the main level. and girl i've been the no clothes in the house for almost 2 months. people know to text me when they come over so that i put clothes on, i'm pathetic. so you can come chill with us in our underwear if you want. hahaha.

  19. Come visit me! I have AC and no utility bill! My apartment is kept at a nice and cool 67 degrees. It's delicious.

  20. yes! my husband's apartment is set to 77 degrees, but it's actually like 84 because the AC can't work to beat the heat in florida. the dog (who has thin hair and no hair on her belly, by the way) is always laying on the tile. it's pathetic. it's so hot! i know the feeling definitely!

  21. Oh man, it's been hot everywhere lately. We don't have air-con and this morning I got up at 5:30 a.m. and the thermostat read 85 in the house! In the afternoons it's been 91-94 inside the house! And yes, most of the time when we're in the hosue we really aren't wearing enough clothes to be presentable in any kind of polite society. And I've been going to the library in the peak of the afternoon heat to hang out in the air-con for a bit. Poor husband's car doesn't have air-con but mine does. Humans really weren't made to live in this kind of weather...

    1. K that has to be the worst. at least when we wake up things have cooled off a bit! I agree.. humans weren't meant to live in heat like this.

  22. So I won't lie your post made me giggle out loud but I also feel your pain! I hate the heat. I am one of those people who grip about it constantly it has been 105 and up with the heat index in Misery (Missouri) as I like to call it. I like to keep our ac to where it is blowing snowballs and it cant keep up with the heat outside. Makes me sad... Hope you get some relief soon in your new super cute apartment!!! Love you blog by the way glad I found you on We&Serendipity. Would love for you to come and visit me in my little section of the blog world.
